Living in Tuckerton , New Jersey has been somewhat of a departure from the Italian artist's lifestyle. Part of adjusting to New Jersey as a painter has meant not expecting to see people on his block everyday. But Jesse finds his inspiration elsewhere in nature. At the Tuckerton seaport museum, the natural habitats of the Southern New Jersey coastline are depicted in detail by Mr. Demolli. Here the physical environment is preserved on two whole walls that merge the sea, the plangent of the coast, the grasslands, the marshes and the pine woods. The particulars of the scene were so important to Jesse that he asked a local fisherman he had observed in the area to pose off in the distance while he was sketching the mural.
“For a long time the murals were magic, seen as a gift from God. After the flood, we discovered the evolution of the art.”
